Adolph Hitler said, "If you tell a lie long enough and loud enough, people will believe it." That certainly seems to be the case with the DaVinci Code. A work of fiction, it has caused an uproar of questions and caused doubt and deception even in the hearts of believers...though it should not. 

I confess I have not taken it very seriously because I know that it is based on lies and old heresies. Without going into the sordid details, let me just say that our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ was much more than just a man. He was a man, born in the flesh , but also God. He chose to be born into humanity for the purpose of dying for sin. He was the chosen, acceptable, perfect, Sacrifice, and only He could have been. He did not escape the cross, run away to France, and live a life of fleshly desires. A  mere man would have...but not the Lord Jesus.

These lies have been around as long as Satan's influence has. The Apostle Paul said, "For God made Christ, WHO NEVER SINNED, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.    II.Cor.5:21 (My emphasis). So you see Paul dealt with those heretics who claimed that Christ was a sinful human...which He certainly would have been if he had avoided the cross and run away. Of course there are evil forces in the world which would like nothing more than for Christ to be seen as just a man...

The Apostle, Simon Peter also addressed these lies in I Peter 3:18: Christ also suffered when He died for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but He died for sinners that He might bring us safely home to God. He suffered physical death, but He was raised to life in the Spirit.

Peter tells us that the Lord was sinless and faithful, and Peter was a man who had known the Lord very well during His eartly ministry. I wonder why Peter would lie about a  mere man who had forsaken us all, abandoned His mission to die for sin, and made shipwreck of the Christian faith? Of course Peter was not lying. Jesus was sinless and faithful to His cause, because He is the eternal Son of God.

The Apostle John also had something to say: This is the way to find out if they have the Spirit of God: If a prophet acknowledges that Jesus Christ became a human being, that person has the Spirit of God. If a prophet does not asknowledge Jesus, that person is not from God. Such a person has the spirit of  the antichrist. You have heard that he is coming into the world, and he is already here.  I John 4:2,3

John wanted everyone to know that the eternal Lord Jesus Christ was God in human form. Anyone who states otherwise is antichrist...against Christ and the truth, and not of God, but of Satan.

Now that should be easily understood and accepted by all true believers. As a matter of fact, the Holy Spirit witnesses this truth to our hearts. If you are in doubt, go to the Lord and ask Him to enlighten you. If you are not a believer, you do the same.
